Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Berlin

The Short Version

I go by Sophie Müller and based in Berlin, and over the past several years I have chronicled my experiences at gyms across Germany.

This site exists because I grew tired of selecting gyms based on ads and vague recommendations, only to find the reality differed from expectations. I wanted concrete, honest insights about what these places were really like. Since I couldn't find them, I decided to create them.

How This Started

My fitness routine began in a small club near Fitnessstraße 12 in Berlin. It was not perfect, but it was accessible, affordable, and it helped me build consistency.

After that place closed, I noticed how quickly the fitness scene in Germany was evolving. New clubs opened, new concepts appeared, and marketing became louder than real member experience.

I started trying different gyms and classes, keeping notes after every visit. Over time those notes turned into this website, built to help others make clearer choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Every review on this site comes from real visits and real time spent inside the club. I focus on practical details that matter when you are choosing a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Take sufficient time to understand routines, peak times, and usage patterns
  • Visit on various days and times
  • Sample multiple training formats and coaches
  • Regularly use facilities to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Speak with other members about consistencies and inconsistencies
  • Take notes right after each visit

I update reviews when circumstances change significantly: renovations, management changes, pricing adjustments, or new facilities. Each article displays the most recent update date so you know how current the info is.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, so here's what matters most to me when assessing a fitness center:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel genuinely well-designed for members, with respectful boundaries and a calm atmosphere?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well maintained? Is there enough variety? Are repairs timely?

Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without waiting constantly?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I live and work in Berlin. This project is here to make fitness choices easier and more transparent for people looking for the right environment.
